Our small group guided Hobbiton tours visit the outdoor set of 44 Hobbit holes built for the Hobbit movies. You get to stand by the gate of Bilbo’s house at Bag End as well as crossing the stone bridge by the Mill to go inside the Green Dragon Inn. You will have lots of time for photos around the set and learn from your guide about how the movies were made and get all the insider information about how the set was built and the stories behind scenes from the movies.

Auckland to Hobbiton tour options
Hobbiton Express with lunch in the Party Marquee
This tour runs every day from Auckland to Hobbiton and back again. Join our small group and head down to Hobbiton to meet a specialist Hobbiton guide who will take you on your tour of the movie set. You will get to see the 44 Hobbit holes and explore inside one of them. Your guide will tell you stories of how the movies were made and insights into how they captured the magic that is Hobbiton. At the end of the tour you get a drink in the Green Dragon Inn followed by a sumptuous buffet lunch in the Party Marquee by the Green Dragon. Hobbiton and Waitomo Caves Tour including lunch
The Hobbiton and Waitomo Caves tour is one of our most popular day trips from Auckland – covering two icons of any trip to New Zealand. After the tour and the party Marquee lunch at Hobbiton we head to the Waitomo glow worm caves to see the amazing limestone formations and float in a boat under the glow worms. Auckland to Rotorua Via Hobbiton (Including lunch)
A great way to get to Rotorua is to go from Auckland to Hobbiton and then on to Rotorua. Bush and Beach take you from Auckland to Hobbiton where you will have a fully guided tour of the movie set with a specialist guide. After the walking tour around the movie set you will go to the Green Dragon Inn for a free drink before having a sumptuous buffet feast in the Party Marquee. Hobbiton movie set
The Green Dragon has a range of drinks made specially for it and only available in the Green Dragon. All of our tours from Auckland to Hobbiton include a complimentary drink in the Green Dragon at the end of the walking tour.
The Party Marquee is set up next to the Green Dragon Inn and is where you will have your sumptuous buffet feast on all of our Hobbiton tours.
All of or Hobbiton tours give you the chance to explore the inside of a Hobbit hole! This interactive experience gives you the chance to try out a hobbit bed or dining room chair for size for example.
